
Fred and Fran are identical ducks and best friends. But one day, Fran falls into a pot of blue paint, which dyes her yellow feathers blue. Not recognizing his friend anymore, Fred leaves Fran alone stuck in the pot of paint. Can Fran escape from the pot?

Learn About Spittal Pond
Rebecca took loads of inspiration from the pond, and even shared some photos with the illustrator which inspired the drawings in the book.
It’s a protected area for animals and plants.
Spittal Pond is home to many birds such as cardinals, blue herons, and of course, ducks! The Bermuda skink, which is one of the rarest lizards in the world also lives at Spittal Pond.
You can find Portuguese Rock which is engraved with the initials “R.P.” It is over 450 years old!


Learn About Ducks
28 different types of ducks have been spotted in Bermuda. A male duck is called a drake, a female duck is called a hen, and a baby duck is called a duckling.
But unfortunately not paint proof, in Fran’s case!
